Dear Parents and Caregivers
Meet the teacher: A big thank you to all the parents who came to meet
the teacher.
Readers: Children must
return their reading book in their book bag every day. If it is not
returned no new reader will be given. Readers are very expensive and cost
the school a lot of money to replace.
Late Arrivals: If you are running late in the
morning and arrive late after the bell, could you please sign your child in to
the office to ensure the roll is updated straight away. If you need to pick up
your child, you need to sign them out at the office.
Ice
block Fridays: If you would like your child to have an Ice
block, please remember to send $1 to your child’s teacher on Friday morning
Sunhats: In Term 1 and term 4, every child at HPS is
required to wear a HPS sunhat at morning tea and lunchtime. If your child
doesn’t have a sunhat on, they will have to sit under a tree in the shade
during playtime.
Student
Survey: A big thanks to all families who have completed and returned
their ‘Student Surveys.’ If you haven’t
already filled it in and sent it along to school, please do so as soon as
possible. Thanks.22n d February 2015
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Reading Eggs: Children have been given their login details and have been stapled into their reading logs/homework book.
Mathletics: All juniors are going to have access to this online programme from term 1. There will be links posted on the class blog as well as put into their homework book.
Junior Splash: The Junior school are looking forward to our Junior Splash on Tuesday 1st March at 1.30pm. For more details please read the notice that is coming home today and check the class blog.
Concept: This term we are learning about being the guardians of our environment. We are going to carry out an audit of our lunchbox rubbish and other waste over the next few days to see what and how much we throw away. This will be a good learning experience for our junior school so please don‛t be surprised to see your child‛s lunchbox coming home empty.
Activity Fee: The activity fee is due for the year so please pay this at the office. It is $65 for the year, however this can be paid by instalments each term.
Readers: Children must return their reading book in their book bag every day. If it is not returned no new reader will be given. Readers are very expensive and cost the school a lot of money to replace.
Iceblock Fridays: If you would like your child to have an iceblock, please remember to send $1 to your child‛s teacher on Friday morning, this is not compulsory.
Homework
Reading: Read your reader each night and your poem on Friday. Write all of these in your log. The logs need to be
handed in every Friday for marking and so your child can get their next certificate.
Spelling: Please help your child learn to correctly read and write their 5 spelling words so they are ready for testing each Friday. Knowing these words helps your child to read them in their readers and write them in their stories.
Maths: please help your child maintain their current maths knowledge and skills, and to develop new learning, by playing counting games at home.
